Who can enter

The competition is open to any Australian resident artist over 17 years of age, i.e. professionals, non professional artists and students.

Theme

A caricature of a past or present, famous or infamous, international or Australian identity.

Format

All mediums Colour and Black/white A3 to A4 (no bigger than A3). Originals flat, not framed or mounted.

Entries

Each competitor may enter up to a maximum of 3 pieces of work but each entry must have been completed within the preceding 12 months.

Entry fees can be made by cheque, money order or postal note made payable to Michael Collins Caricature Award Inc.

Entries will not be accepted unless free of charges.

The organisers will not be responsible for the freight or any other charges incurred in the delivery.

We would prefer to receive artwork in a flat condition as opposed to being rolled up in a cylinder.

Contact details

All entry forms must clearly show - the name, address, contact phone number and email address of the artist, and the name of the person shown in the caricature.

Please indicate a dollar value for each entry for insurance purposes.

The Artists name should also be printed clearly on the back of each entry.

If you've entered previously and are happy with your profile, (shown below artists name on the gallery pages), please write 'same as last year' in the 'Artist profile' section of the MCCA entry form.

Judging conditions

Winners will be announced in Perth on Friday, 16th October 2009 and notified by phone.

Results published in the West Australian newspaper the week after the official announcement.

Judges will not be eligible to enter the competition.

The competition organisers will appoint judges for the competition.

The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Other conditions

• Entry to the awards will be taken as an agreement to accept the conditions and rules as well as the decision of the judges.
• All reasonable care will be taken with works submitted, but the organisers will not be responsible for loss or damage to any work, nor any other legal responsibility.
• Competitors shall allow their works to be reproduced for the purposes of promotion of this and future Awards.
• The organisers reserve the right to refuse entries they find offensive or incompatible to the ethos of the Awards intensions.
• The organisers can enter the competition. The judges cannot enter.
• No one person can be awarded more than one prize in any one year.

Non-winning entries (return policy)

The organisers reserve the right to exhibit up to 40 entries as the Judges select, at various venues throughout Australia during the months that follow the competition.

Apart from the winning entry, all artwork entered in the awards shall become the property of Michael Collins Caricature Award Inc. These works may be shown in future Australian Exhibitions and may be sold to raise funds for the supported charity.

Auctions

All auctions will close at 6PM (WA time), Friday 6th November 2009. At this time, the person with the highest bid will be declared the purchaser of that particular item. Purchasers will be notified by email or phone in the first instance. Reserve prices have been set, if an item does not meet its reserve price it may not be sold.

An $8 postage and handling charge will be included within Australia. For overseas purchases, the purchaser will be liable for any postage and handling costs.
